March 8, 2019 The information in this summary is taken from an article, written by E. Hanzai, that first appeared in the Waking Times  in June of 2014. Monsanto was founded in 1901 by John Queeny, for the purpose of making saccharin for Coca-Cola. He named the company for his wife, Olga Mendez Monsanto. Astonishingly, the government sued Monsanto, since saccharin was a known poison, to make them stop production. It lost! It's been downhill ever since. In the 1920s, Monsanto began production of polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, a long-lasting toxin and carcinogen. PCBs were banned after fifty years for causing environmental holocaust, but are still present in animal and human blood samples and tissue cells around the world. Court documents plainly showed Monsanto's awareness of PCBs' deadly effects. March 15, 2018 - A lesson in evolution: When farmers spray weed killer on their fields, there will always be a small number of weeds that survive. They have a natural resistance to the weed killer in their genetic makeup. Those are the weeds that go to seed that year, their children producing a crop of herbicide-resistant weeds the following year. By the next year, the farmer's fields are producing more and more herbicide-resistant weeds. What's a farmer to do? For those unwise enough to remain on the chemical treadmill, there's only one solution. Buy a stronger weed killer - to which a small number of weeds will, inevitably, be resistant. April 2, 2017 - The following was sent to me by Credo by email today. Please read and take action: Stunning new documents unsealed by a federal judge suggest that Monsanto worked directly with  federal regulators to hide the health risks of and manipulate the science behind its best-selling herbicide, RoundUp. The documents reveal that Monsanto pressured Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials to not publicly release information on the cancer risks of glyphosate, the main ingredient in RoundUp, ghost- wrote research for the EPA and worked with a senior official at the agency to quash a federal review of the chemical. March 25, 2015 - I recall, back in the early 1970's, the constant stream of news stories telling Americans that virtually every new product recently developed contained something that caused cancer.  Honestly, it was hard to know what to do with the information.  I think because there were so many stories - several a week, it seemed like - there was also a lot of skepticism.  All these years later, I will confess we should have demanded that the products be pulled from the shelves.  We didn't, and now we pay the price with our own lives, and the lives of our children and grandchildren. February 3, 2014 - We live in a disjointed world.  To wit: I read, probably 10 days ago, that Monsanto isn't introducing any new GE seeds this year.  Meanwhile, GE superweeds have overrun American farms, with 50 percent of American farmers reporting Roundup-resistant weed infestations.  Then there's the USDA, which has extended its public comment period on its Advisory Community's recommendations vis-a-vis better relations between conventional and organic farmers (kind of reminds me of that song from the musical Oklahoma!: "Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends ...").  Are we turning a corner, where GE seeds are concerned?  Read on, and ponder. March 13, 2012 - I suspect a lot of you already know that U.S. Federal District Judge Naomi Buchwald, of the Southern District of New York, tossed out the lawsuit that had been brought against Monsanto by organic farmers.  The suit was filed last March, and the dismissal took place late last month.  It would appear Monsanto got to Judge Buchwald before she rendered her dismissal, since the case was a substantive one. November 23, 2009 – Pesticide use has increased in the United States. Yes, that’s right, I said increased. We’re spraying more poison on our food. Small amounts of that poison enter our bodies when we eat those foods. Small amounts of that poison enter our children’s bodies when they eat those foods. The best news of all?
